- DURING THIS decoration WORKSHOP, YOU will HAVE A BASIC INTRODUCTION TO ONE OF THE FUNDAMENTAL methods of hand building - THE slab technique.
- a collection of 6 decorations OF YOUR CREATION, to adorn your Easter table or to give as a gift.
- tuition, EXHIBITION STANDARD materials, TOOLS FOR USE ON THE DAY and firing costs.
- The studio is located 5 minutes from central Farnham, Surrey
What TO EXPECT:
If your time is limited, THIS TASTER WORKSHOP will give you aN introduction to handbuilding, allowing enough time to gain aN understanding of the material and to get you in the Easter spirit.
You will be guided through the slab building technique TO CREATE YOUR ORNAMENTS and THERE will BE ready-made, TRADITIONAL templates for you to use or you are welcome to make your own OR FREESTYLE. Once you have cut out your decorations, it will be time to let your creativity run free. SHOULD YOU WISH TO PAINT YOUR DECORATIONS WITH UNDERGLAZE, I HAVE A COMPREHENSIVE ARRAY OF COLOURS FOR YOU TO WORK WITH and I WILL DEMO HOW TO IMPRINT texture and text into the clay.
After the session, you will leave your creations AND I will process them for you - I will DRY, BISQUE FIRE, SAND, WAX, glaze and GLAZE fire THEM. IN CONJUNCTION WITH YOUR SURFACE DESIGNS, YOU CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN A MATT WHITE, IVORY GLOSS AND/OR TRANSPARENT GLAZE, IN WHICH I WILL FINISH YOUR SIX PIECES.
I WILL NOTIFY YOU VIA EMAIL WHEN YOUR table ornamentS ARE READY FOR PRE Easter COLLECTION.
Easter sunday is one of our favourite days of the year. Watching the children and their cousins decipher clues to find the prized chocolate eggs and then all gathering around the table to feast together. these ornaments are part of our festive table dressing.
